Zora Neale Hurston is considered one of the pre-eminent writers of twentieth-century African-American literature. Hurston was closely associated with the Harlem Renaissance and has influenced such writers as Ralph Ellison, Toni Morrison, Gayle Jones, Alice Walker, and Toni Cade Bambara. She is also famous for her novel, Their Eyes were Watching God.

Definitely an innavator for her time broke a lot of barriers at a time when woman had 0 to little no respect and that to be a black woman at that shitttttttttttt, You already know she must've been bad.
One of my favorite authors. At first i couldn't appreciate the native dialect she wrote in...however, after reading her history and understanding that she wanted to incorporate an authentic blackness into her work...i read further into it and have learned to LOVE Ms. Hurston.
PS- You know she had a thing for the "homosexual" Mr. Langston Hughes right?
